Pitt-Bradford and Sacred Spaces Holistic Center will hold a yoga retreat June 16-18 on the campus.
The R3 Yoga Retreat will feature three days of rest, rejuvenation and relaxation, including yoga, meditation, sound therapy, henna art, tai chi, Ayurveda, massage therapy and wellness vendors.
The inaugural retreat is for all levels, but is for adults only. The retreat begins at 5 p.m. Friday, June 16, and concludes at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 18. The $200 fee includes Friday evening reception, workshops and activities, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and lunch on Sunday. A $155 early bird rate is available through May 25.
Accommodations are available on campus in air-conditioned rooms.
“This is the first of its kind in the area, and it's a superb chance to enjoy some down time alone or with a group of friends, colleagues or family,” said Donnia Denig, co-owner of Sacred Spaces.
Friday evening will include Lana Ryder and Nacol Sharkins providing sound therapy with peace-inspired Tibetan singing bowls and gongs.
Nine instructors will lead yoga classes beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday with new sessions scheduled every 90 minutes. The last class will be scheduled for around 8 p.m. with a bonfire.
Participants may take as many sessions as they like or skip a session to take part in other activities such as massage, henna, Ayurveda consultation or browsing the wellness fair.
