Dr. Thomas teaches survey courses across the entire spectrum of European History from the ancient, medieval, and renaissance periods through modern history. He also teaches Asian History. His field of study is the history of modern Europe, especially eighteenth-century Bavaria, Saxony. His minor field is philosophy.
He has been teaching at Pitt-Bradford since 1969. He was chosen in 1997 as the recipient the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association's Teaching Excellence Award
Research, Accomplishments, and Publications:
Each spring, Dr. Thomas presents a public lecture on a major historical event or person. Some of his lectures include the sinking of the Titanic, the bombing of Dresden in World War II, and Sarajevo 28, June 1914.
