Noah loves soccer so much he wanted to teach others to play.

Noah, a midfielder/defender on Pitt-Bradford’s soccer team, spent his summer in Washington, D.C., as an intern with major league soccer club D.C. United. He coached the young players in the United’s Summer Youth Campus, which included helping local special-needs children. Besides teaching youngsters how to cross, charge, screen and tackle, Noah also helped with behind-the-scenes operations for the club.

“The internship gave me more knowledge of soccer and what is expected of me within an organization.”

Noah said the most important lesson he learned was how to communicate effectively with his fellow employees and players of all ages.

He feels fortunate that his sport and recreation management major enabled him to share his love of soccer with others.

“I like that my major gives me an opportunity to educate the youth about the sport I love, and it allows me to continue to be involved in soccer, even into my older years.”
