Dr. Binder oversees Residence Life & Housing, Student Conduct, advises fraternities & sororities, advises LGBT students, works with international students, supervises the mascot team and teaches Algebra I.
Binder joined Pitt-Bradford from the University of South Carolina, where he was the director of Greek Life and special projects. Previously he worked at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, University of Georgia and Bowling Green State University.
Binder speaks nationally on risk management and alcohol and substance abuse and has been cited in Newsweek, NBC Nightly News, National Public Radio's Talk of the Nation and Court TV. He has extensive experience in Greek affairs, speaking around the country at Sigma Phi Epsilon leadership programs and traveling to Greece with students from the national fraternity to study Greek philosophy.
Binder was involved with the National Collaborative for Hazing Research and Prevention and founded the Hazing Hotline. He was the Co-Chair of the Fraternity & Sorority Knowledge Community of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, and the previously served as the national president of the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors. He currently serves as the national President for Gamma Sigma Alpha - National Greek Academic Honor Society.
He is a native of Toledo, Ohio, and lives in Bradford with his husband, Morgan.
