  • “The faculty at Pitt-Bradford have inspired me the most.”

  • Tatem Wertman, a public relations major from Allenwood, PA

When Tatem was a freshman, she wasn’t sure what to major in. Fortunately, she had help when she got to campus.

With that help, Tatem found public relations, and loves being a PR major. She loves writing for the public. She enjoys studying and interacting with many people, and she appreciates the career and networking opportunities in all kinds of businesses.

One opportunity she took advantage of was an internship at Geisinger Health Foundation, working on the events team in the development department. She helped to plan, coordinate and execute community events, including golf tournaments, community lunches, galas and ribbon cuttings. She edited grant applications and publications. She also got to network with dozens of successful people from different fields.

“The best part of my internship was the team I worked with who offered to have me back during the school year to help with events.”

Tatem credits her professors for the success she’s had so far.

“It is so refreshing to be surrounded by the intellect and experience I was lucky enough to learn from. I would not be as successful as I am today if not for the encouragement and mentoring I gained from the faculty in my major courses.”
