Short Bio

J.D. McGuire was born in Lebanon, Missouri he is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, B.F.A. Painting, and the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University, M.F.A. Visual Arts. His works have been exhibited nationally and his focus is on drawing and painting. His works have been featured at the Newark Museum, the Kansas City Jewish Museum, and Pool Art Center at Drury University. J.D. taught studio art and lecture courses for ten years in New Jersey and New York at Raritan Valley Community College, Centenary University, Rutgers University, and St Thomas Aquinas College. He taught a college level Art Appreciation course inside six New Jersey State Prisons before returning to Missouri to teach at Drury University and Missouri State University. Before coming to the University of Pittsburg, Bradford, JD spent two years teaching at Independence Community College in Kansas where he re-built the Visual Arts Department.
