Materials for K-12 teachers/librarians to bring: Laptop

Optional materials: Unit or lesson plan that could be adapted or updated to include Indigenous knowledge and resources

Additional Requirements: Educators must be able to attend both days.

Workshop Description:
This two-day professional development workshop will provide training to support the integration of culturally sustaining Indigenous knowledge and resources into lesson plans and library collections. The workshop will be a dynamic interplay of information and participatory engagement, and the final project will be creating a lesson plan or library collection plan.

The series will allow pre-and in-service teachers to learn how to teach about Indigenous topics and use resources responsibly. The impact will extend to participants’ colleagues, students, and future students of Pitt-Bradford pre-service teachers, who will be introduced to culturally responsive teaching of Indigenous scientific wisdom, history, and culture.

Registration Cost: Free for PA Certified Educators with a valid and active PA teaching license.
Registration Capped At:  20 PA Certified Educators with a valid and active PA teaching license.

Lunch will be provided for participants on both days.
