Anti-Hazing Policy
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has many values, one of which is respect for basic human dignity. We fulfill this principle by treating fellow students with dignity at all times. When students join our student organizations (including fraternities and sororities), get tapped into our honor societies, or join our athletic teams, we should respect our fellow students even more and not place them in any compromising situations.
Students very much want to be a part of our groups, which we take as an affirmation of the positive experience we are providing. And studies show that joining student groups and teams have positive effects.
An inherent responsibility of leadership is that we not abuse their desire to join us. Students should not be compelled to do things to gain membership that compromise their values, are against our university policy, or are against state law. We owe our future members treatment with the dignity that befits a student at Pitt Bradford.
