Kindergarten teacher Cole Palmer credits a lot of his success to the education professors who inspired him at Pitt-Bradford.

Palmer, who earned his degree in early level education PreK-4 in 2024, teaches kindergarten at Oswayo Valley Elementary School in Shinglehouse, Pa., and also is the marching band director at Otto-Eldred Junior Senior High School in Duke Center, Pa.

“Pitt-Bradford gave me the perfect blend of theory and hands-on experience,” Palmer said. “I learned how to create inclusive classrooms and address the unique needs of each child.”

Palmer said his professors in the education program have a wide variety of experiences in the field, which they share with their students.

As an education student, Palmer said he gained valuable hands-on experience during field placements, which prepared him to manage his own classroom and collaborate with colleagues and parents.

“I’m passionate about helping students grow,” Palmer said, “whether in the classroom or through music.”
