17 members of faculty recognized for years of service

Pitt-Bradford recognized 17 members of its faculty this week who are celebrating milestone service anniversaries this year.

Dr. Marvin E. Thomas, professor of history, was recognized for 45 years of service. Pitt-Bradford's longest-serving professor, Thomas teaches survey courses across the entire spectrum of European history from the ancient, medieval and renaissance periods through modern history. In 1997, he was chosen by the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association for its Teaching Excellence Award.

Dr. Richard G. Frederick, professor of history, was honored for 35 years of service. He teaches American history and enjoys jazz music, classic movies, mysteries and college basketball.

Honored for 30 years was Dr. David S. Soriano, associate professor of chemistry, who teaches general, organic and biochemistry classes.

Those honored for 25 years of service were Dr. Yong-Zhuo Chen, professor of mathematics; Lizbeth A. Matz, associate professor of business management; Dr. Francis Mulcahy, associate professor of chemistry; Gary B. Tessmer, assistant professor of composition; and Dr. Hashim A. Yousif, professor of physics.

Honored for 20 years of service was Timothy F. Ziaukas, professor of public relations.

Faculty honored for 15 years of service were Dr. Kevin Ewert, professor of theater; Donald C. Lewicki, associate professor of business management; and Dr. Stephen F. Robar, associate professor of political science.

Those honored for 10 years of service were Dr. Donna Armstrong Dombek, associate professor of education; Dr. Mark F. Kelley, assistant professor of exercise medicine; and Dr. Jean M. Truman, assistant professor of nursing.

Kimberly M. Bailey, reference and instruction librarian, was recognized for five years of service.
