Alumni can take advantage of career services

Pitt resources offer job listings, internships, career fairs and more

Students talking to Career Educator, Warren Shaw

When Pitt-Bradford students graduate, they take career resources with them.

Alumni can take advantage of the University of Pittsburgh’s comprehensive career services platform, Handshake, which includes listings for jobs, internships, career fairs, events and more. The Pitt Commons platform is an internal networking platform that is also available to students, faculty, staff and alumni to establish networking or mentoring relationships specific to their unique interests and career goals.

Career Educator Warren Shaw, himself a Pitt-Bradford graduate, is available for individual consults and resume reviews. Shaw also organizes an annual career fair, which will take place on March 22 and is open to the public. Last year’s fair featured more than 40 employers from the region.

A health career fair held in February hosted employers seeking to hire graduates for hospitals, nursing homes and other health care focused industries.

For other career events, Shaw works with the Pitt-Bradford Alumni Association to host an annual career networking luncheon, usually on the last Friday in September, as part of the university’s Alumni and Family Weekend.

In the beginning of each calendar year, alumni return to campus to share skills with current undergraduates and recent grads.

For more information about any of these events, contact Shaw.

Additionally, as one of the largest employers in Bradford, the university frequently has positions listed for staff and faculty ranging from campus police officer to engineering professor.
