Pitt-Bradford will hold a special preview screening of "The Marquee on Main Street," an independent film written and directed by 1996 broadcast communications graduate Chester Lampman.
Lampman will introduce the film at 11:45 a.m. April 8 in the Bromeley Family Theater in Blaisdell Hall. The film, which runs 38 minutes, will begin at noon. Lunch will follow. The events are free and open to the public.
"The Marquee on Main Street" is Lampman's thesis film for a Master in Fine Arts from Chatham University. It's a documentary about the historical single-screen cinema experience that profiles several independent neighborhood movie theaters in the Pittsburgh region, celebrating their histories, examining their challenges and highlighting the people that keep them going.
Lampman grew up in Potter County, Pa., graduated from Northern Potter Junior/High School and would see movies with his family at the Coudersport Theatre.
