In January, the regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh was named to a list of the 10 best regional campuses in the United States by college research website TheBestColleges.
The list placed Pitt-Bradford eighth and also included Carnegie Mellon University, Silicon Valley; Penn State Erie, The Behrend College; University of Michigan-Flint; University of Texas Medical School at Houston; Texas A&M University at Galveston; Tufts European Center; Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis; Idaho State University-Meridian; and Colorado State University-Global Campus.
“Students come for [Pitt-Bradford’s] reputation as a place they can get the quality of the Pittsburgh flagship without getting lost among nearly 30,000 students,” the blogger wrote, also citing Pitt-Bradford’s naming to the 2012 Princeton Review’s “Best Value Colleges,” a list of the 150 best value colleges nationwide.
The author also drew on reviews from the website College Confidential, writing that “professors are considered students’ friends, going above and beyond to facilitate learning by extending office hours, giving out their private cellphone numbers and more.”
The list also appeared on the college life website Hack College and HuffPost College, a section of the online news website Huffington Post.
In September, Pitt-Bradford was named a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs magazine for the fourth year in a row.
Last August, the university received its ninth consecutive recognition as one of the best regional colleges by The Princeton Review.
And the prestigious U.S.News & World Report named Pitt-Bradford as a best regional college in 2011 and 2008.
