Campus receives four Collegiate Advertising Awards

Direct mail and newspaper ad receive gold recognition

An ad that says "Love where you Learn"

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford received four awards in the 2023 Collegiate Advertising Awards program, which recognizes U.S. colleges and universities for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions.

Pitt-Bradford received two Gold Awards, one Silver Award and one Bronze Award in this year’s competition, which is judged by a panel of design and education marketing professionals who evaluate entries on series criteria, including creativity, design, and overall quality and effectiveness.

Pitt-Bradford received a Gold Award in the Direct Mail – Series category for a set of postcards that were mailed to prospective students and a Gold Award in the Newspaper Ad – Series category for print ads with the theme “Love Where you Learn.”

The campus received a Silver Award in the TV/Video Advertising/PSA – Series category for a series of videos featuring students working on various projects in the George B. Duke Engineering and Information Technologies Building, including in the makerspace, machine shop and virtual reality lab.

Pitt-Bradford received a Bronze Award in the Brochure – Multiple Pages category for a comprehensive brochure that admissions counselors use when they travel to high school and college fairs.

Three of the four award-winning entries – the postcards, brochure and print ads – were designed by John Sizing of JS Publication Design in Wellesley, Mass.

The award-winning videos from the Duke Building were developed by Epicosity, a marketing and digital media firm based in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Earlier this month, Pitt-Bradford received nine awards in the Educational Advertising Awards Program. Of those nine awards, three were for entries that also received Collegiate Advertising Awards: the engineering videos, the postcards and the newspaper ads.

“All of these awards are a testament to the passion and creativity of members of our on-campus and off-campus team of content creators, including writers, editors, designers, photographers and videographers,” said Pat Frantz Cercone, executive director of communications and marketing.

“Not only are they exceptionally talented, but they also are deeply committed to sharing all of Pitt-Bradford’s remarkable stories in a compelling way.”

Pitt-Bradford has received a total of 34 Collegiate Advertising Awards and 40 Educational Advertising Awards.
