Pitt-Bradford has received four awards in the 2018 Collegiate Advertising Awards program, which recognizes U.S. colleges and universities for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions.
Pitt-Bradford received a Gold Award in the Recruitment Series category for the three main brochures admissions counselors use to recruit students and a Silver Award in the Direct Mail - Series category for three postcards the admissions office sent to college-bound high school students last summer.
Pitt-Bradford also received two Bronze Awards: The first was in the Internal Publications category for Portraits magazine, the university's flagship publication, which is sent to alumni, employees, donors and friends of Pitt-Bradford.
The second Bronze was awarded in the Newspaper Ad - Series category for print ads published in regional newspapers last fall that featured several local students, including Samantha Vaccaro, a business management major from Bradford who traveled to Japan, and Daniel Picklo, a computer information systems and technology major from Bradford who interned at protocol 80.
“Each of these award-winning submissions featured the stories of our students and alumni, told in words, images or both,” said Pat Frantz Cercone, executive director of communications and marketing.
“The fact that these pieces received recognition is a testament both to our successful students and alumni as well as all of the talented people who helped to create these pieces.”
Mark Zampogna, a 1988 Pitt-Bradford alumnus and owner of Laser Layouts of Bradford, designed the award-winning newspaper ads. John Sizing of JS Publication Design in Wellesley, Mass., designed the other award-winning submissions.
Typically, the Collegiate Advertising Awards program receives more than 900 entries from colleges and universities throughout the United States. A panel of design and education marketing professionals judge the entries on creativity, design, production, quality and overall effectiveness.
These latest awards brings the total to 19 Collegiate Advertising awards that Pitt-Bradford has received.
