Employees recognized for years of service

Pitt-Bradford will recognize members of its faculty and staff celebrating milestone service anniversaries this year at a dinner this evening at The Bradford Club.

Dr. Marvin Thomas, professor of history, will mark 50 years of teaching at Pitt-Bradford and is the longest-serving member of the Pitt-Bradford faculty. He teaches survey courses across the entire spectrum of European History - from the ancient medieval and Renaissance periods through modern history. His field of study is the history of modern Europe, especially eighteenth-century Bavaria, Saxony. In 2016, he published “The Saxon Aspect of the Bavarian Allodial Succession 1777-1779: The History of a Legal Dispute.” He plans to retire this spring.

Kathy Moonan, manager of accounts payable, is being recognized for 40 years of service, and is the longest-serving member of the Pitt-Bradford staff. Last year, she received the President's Award for Staff Excellence. In addition to being the manager of accounts payable, she serves as the office manager for the Business Affairs Office. She also played a substantial role in the establishment of the campus's new NCAA Division III wrestling team.

Marietta Frank, director of Hanley Library, will be celebrating 30 years at Pitt-Bradford. In addition to supervising the library, she is a scholar of children's literature and serves on several campus committees.

Dianne Null, data coordinator in the Office of the Registrar, will be marking 25 years at Pitt-Bradford.

Faculty and Staff who will be honored for 20 years of service are Bret Butler, athletic director; Barbara Burkhouse, administrative assistant for business and administrative affairs; Janet Shade, administrative assistant for the Division of Physical and Computational Sciences; Dr. Lauren Yaich, chair of the Division of Biological and Health Sciences and associate professor of biology; Dr. Mary Mulcahy, director of the biology program and associate professor of biology; Dr. Don Ulin, director of the English program and associate professor of English; and Tammy Luciano. Being recognized for 15 years of service are Mary Dinger, coordinator of the Associate of Science in Nursing Program and assistant professor of nursing; Tammy Haley, director of nursing and radiological science programs and assistant professor of nursing; Jason Honeck, director of the athletic training program and assistant professor of athletic training; Keary Rouff, associate professor of sport and exercise science; and Tina Phillips, assistant director of athletics and head women's softball coach.

Staff reaching the 10-year milestone are Susan Schenfield, head tennis coach; Alex Suppa, campus police sergeant; Bernie Picklo, academic technology integrator; Dr. Wayne Brinda, coordinator of secondary education and associate professor of education; Ernest Kallenbach, assistant professor of accounting; and Dr. Y. Ken Wang, director of the computer information systems and technology program and associate professor of CIS&T and director of Asian collaborations.

Those who will be recognized for five years of service are Dr. Patricia Brougham, assistant professor of criminal justice; Dr. Helma de Vries-Jordan, director of the history-political science program and assistant professor of political science; Orin James, instructor of biology; Dr. Denise Piechnik, assistant professor of biology; Anna Lemnitzer, director of the interdisciplinary arts program and assistant professor of art;

John Crawford, assistant professor of finance; Jennifer Forney, instructor of hospitality management; Dr. Shelly Klinek, assistant professor of health and physical education; Christine Tyler, assistant director of annual giving; Sofia Brien, manager of human resources; Shawn Llewellyn, purchasing manager; Kevin Niver, maintenance worker II; Randal Stiles, accounting specialist; Shelley Whitman, administrative assistant for the Center for Rural Health Practice; and Marcia Avey, administrative assistant in health services.
