The American Refining Group/Harry R. Halloran Jr. Energy Institute is co-sponsoring a free educational seminar about natural gas vehicles May 13.

The seminar, which is being presented in conjunction with National Fuel Gas Corp. and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, will take place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in the Mukaiyama University Room of the Frame-Westerberg Commons at Pitt-Bradford.Those who wish to attend are asked to register with Marti Sawyer at National Fuel, who may be reached at sawyer@natfuel.com or 1-800-551-5991.

The seminar is designed for representatives from businesses with fleet vehicles who would like to learn about converting their vehicles to run on compressed natural gas, explained Dr. Matt Kropf, director of the institute.

It will address purchasing or converting vehicles from passenger cars to heavy-duty trucks. John Gordon, general energy consultant for National Fuel, said that the company has seen a growing interest in the Bradford area in the use of compressed natural gas, which costs less than diesel and creates fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
