Pitts-Bradford will hold an exhibition of work by arts faculty and staff from Sept. 18 through Oct. 16.

Pitts-Bradford will hold an exhibition of work by arts faculty and staff from Sept. 18 through Oct. 16.

The exhibition will open Sept. 18 in the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall at noon, when a gallery talk and reception will be held. All events are free and open to the public. Hours at the gallery are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and during events in the Bromeley Family Theater.

“Our arts program has really been growing,” said Anna Lemnitzer, assistant professor of art, who coordinated the exhibition. “For example, in the last year, we have added two additional art adjunct professors who teach to full classrooms.”

Lemnitzer said that it is traditional for universities to hold exhibitions of faculty works to showcase their programs.

“The people who work to provide instruction and arts programming here on the Pitt-Bradford campus are fantastic educators whose work doesn't end when they leave the classroom,” she said.

Work will include ceramic pieces, abstract acrylic paintings, mixed media work, sculptural installation and new genres, and encaustic and oil paintings. Artists are Lemnitzer, Courtney Mealy, Anne Mormile, Merry Riding, Richard Minard and Samila Sosic.
