Fass signs contract to revise psychology textbook chapters

Dr. Warren Fass, associate professor of psychology, has signed a contract with the National Social Science Press to revise five chapters for the fourth edition of its textbook, “Introduction to Psychology: An Interactive Text.”

Fass will revise chapters on the Introduction and History of Psychology, Learning, Memory and Thought, Sensation and Perception, and Human Development and Intelligence. In addition to revising the chapters, he will write the instructor’s manual and tests for those chapters.

The National Social Science Press is a faculty venture to provide low-cost interactive texts for students and faculty. The company was started to meet the demand for less expensive textbooks and to provide students with interactive texts with audio, embedded videos, links to websites, and slide shows with music designed to meet the expectations of 21st century students.

Fass earned his doctorate and Master of Science degree in experimental psychology from Ohio University. At Pitt-Bradford, he is the director of the psychology program and teaches Statistics, Experimental Psychology, Human Memory, Human Learning, Child Development and Assessment.

His area of research is memory. He has investigated the factors influencing the retention of text, the effectiveness of various study techniques and the impact of prior knowledge on memory processes.

He lives in Bradford.
