Hileman named manager/docent for Marilyn Horne Museum

Pitt-Bradford has named Matthew D. Hileman as the manager/docent of the new Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center.

The museum is located in Marilyn Horne Hall, formerly the Seneca Building, on Veterans Square in the historic downtown district.

A graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, Hileman is excited to be returning to Western Pennsylvania to manage the new museum.

“This project is a spectacular addition to Bradford,” Hileman said. “It will no doubt play an important role in the ongoing revitalization efforts of the downtown district.”

Hileman has more than 20 years of experience with museum collections, gallery operations, hospitality, education and marketing. He is the former director of marketing for the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art in Las Vegas, where he worked with world-renowned collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Moscow Kremlin Armoury Museums, and the private collection of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

He comes to Bradford from Orlando, Florida, where has worked most recently at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World as part of the vacation planning team. He has received awards for his outstanding guest service and teamwork while at Disney and during his time in Las Vegas.

Hileman holds a Bachelor of Arts in art history. He is a former adjunct faculty member at the College of Southern Nevada and is the author of “The Impressionist Landscape from Corot to van Gogh: Masterworks from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.”

Hileman began working at Pitt-Bradford May 15, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the museum while organizing the museum's marketing, tours, and education programming.

The museum opened to the public May 6, when Marilyn Horne was present for the dedication ceremony.

The museum, located at 2 Marilyn Horne Way, is free and open to the public. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
