The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford was named one of the Best for Vets: Colleges by Military Times, the premier dedicated independent news source for active-duty military, their families and retirees.

Pitt-Bradford was the smallest public university in Pennsylvania that was recognized and the only campus in the University of Pittsburgh system. Military Times named 12 Pennsylvania colleges to its guide and 29 across the Mid-Atlantic region.

To determine its list, Military Times looks at success metrics, military-specific resources and the level of financial assistance schools offer. It also considered admissions and registration policies.

This is the second year Pitt-Bradford has been recognized by Military Times. Previously, it has received recognition as a Military Friendly School for 14 consecutive years by Viqtory Media for its support of active military and veteran students.

“Pitt-Bradford is proud to support our nation’s veterans and their family members in pursuit of their academic and career goals,” said Dr. James Baldwin, vice president for enrollment management. “This recognition from Military Times reflects our priority to provide a world-class education to students who have served our country, and we continue to offer support that will help them succeed both in and out of the classroom.”

Support at Pitt-Bradford for veterans includes academic coaching and tutoring, disability resources, an academic advising center, writing center and mathematics center, as well as career and counseling services.

In September, U.S. News & World Report ranked Pitt-Bradford #10 in Best Colleges for Veterans in the North.

Pitt-Bradford has also been named a Military Spouse Friendly® School, a designation that helps military spouses select schools that will support them in their education journey by meeting their unique needs as part of a military family.
