Social sciences honor society inducts 10
Pitt-Bradford has inducted 10 students into Pi Gamma Mu, the International Honor Society in Social Studies.
In order to be invited to join Pi Gamma Mu, a student must be a junior or senior in the upper 35 percent of his or her class with at least 20 semester hours in social sciences and an average grade of B.
Pi Gamma Mu defines social sciences to include the disciplines of history, political science, sociology, anthropology, economics, internal relations, criminal justice, social work, psychology, philosophy, history of education and geography.
Those inducted this year include Treena L. Holmes Hulings, a social science major from Warren; Diane M. Marold, a social sciences major from Kane; Kelli Mae Nelson, a criminal justice major from Wilcox; Sarah Beth Rhinehart, a criminal justice major from Olean, N.Y.; Danielle A. Schoonover-Wils, a history/political science major from Bradford; Elizabeth Loraine Tipton, a social studies education 7-12 major from Warren; Zachary D. Work, an economics and applied mathematics major from Erie; and Kaitlin Marie Zapel, a human relations major from Bradford.
Dr. Marvin Thomas, professor of history, is adviser for the group.
