Staff members Colosimo, Pascarella promoted

Pitt-Bradford has promoted staff members in its arts and marketing/communications offices.

Patricia Colosimo has been named the director of arts programming. Previously, she was the assistant director and coordinator.

As director, Colosimo is responsible for selecting and managing programming for Pitt-Bradford Prism and Kaleidoscope arts series and assisting arts faculty with Spectrum series events. In addition, she oversees the long-term strategic planning for the performing arts program and the Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center.

Colosimo came to Pitt-Bradford in 1990 and managed the Spectrum Series while working in the university's Office of Conference Services.

In 2008, she became assistant director of arts programming and helped to design the Kaleidoscope children's arts and Prism series.

She has been recognized by her colleagues as the recipient of the Admissions Commitment to Excellence Award in 2001, Pitt-Bradford Staff Association Recognition Award in 2009 and Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Service to the University in 2010.

She serves on the board of directors of the Southern Tier Symphony and has served on the boards of directors of the Pennsylvania Presenters and the Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Series.

She and her husband, Richard, live in Bradford and have three grown children.

Jim Pascarella has been promoted to web manager. He takes over from Amy Ward, who retired in October.

Previously, Pascarella was the web programmer at Pitt-Bradford. He is a 2010 graduate of the university's computer information systems and technology program.

After graduating from Bradford High School, Pascarella joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served for four years. After leaving the Marines, he had several jobs with two industries in the area, both of which closed.

After the second industry closed due to competition from foreign companies, Pascarella used the Trade Readjustment Allowances program to earn his Associate of Science in information systems from Pitt-Bradford before earning his Bachelor of Science.

His new duties include keeping the university's website's 10,000 pages updated; making sure links, forms and code throughout are working properly; and developing the appropriate architecture so visitors find the information they're looking for quickly and easily. He is also responsible for keeping the site up-to-date with trends and compatible with current technology.

He lives in Bradford with his wife, Brenda, and has two grown children and two grandsons.
