Student art show opens March 17

The 14th annual student art exhibition will open March 17 in the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall.

The 14th annual student art exhibition will open March 17 in the KOA Art Gallery in Blaisdell Hall.

“Affairs of the Art” will begin with an open reception at noon March 17 in the KOA Speer Electronics. Student artwork will also be on display in the Helen Hume Gallery in Blaisdell Hall.

“Blaisdell Hall will be a great place to stop in, see fabulous work and mingle,” said Anna K. Lemnitzer, assistant professor of art.

Part of the university's Spectrum Series, the juried art show will run through April 14 and feature distinguished artwork produced throughout the academic year by Pitt-Bradford students.

The exhibition will include ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, design and printmaking, representing work from 18 art courses available each year.

Drew Myers, a business management major from Wilcox who is also pursuing an art minor and serving as the KOA Art Gallery's first intern, is installing the exhibition in the gallery.

Digital design intern Jordan Darrow, an interdisciplinary arts major from Limestone, New York, created the posters, postcards and vinyl lettering for the exhibition.

The KOA Art Gallery is open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.
