Tennis courts closed for repairs

Pitt-Bradford has closed its tennis courts to make repairs to damage caused by a water main break in 2016.

Pitt-Bradford has closed its tennis courts to make repairs to damage caused by a water main break in 2016.

The courts at the Kessel Athletic Complex are expected to be closed to the campus and the community for two months while repairs are made. They will reopen in time for tennis teams from Bradford Area High School and Pitt-Bradford to practice and compete.

In October 2016, a 12-inch water main running beneath the courts ruptured. In order to repair the water main, the Bradford City Water Authority had to cut through the surface of the courts.

Last summer, water lines were relocated to avoid a similar problem in the future.
