‘Terra Forms’ art exhibit opens Oct. 8
Debra Eck’s work celebrates local materials and sustainable artistry
The art exhibition “Terra Forms: An Exploration of Local Materiality” will open Oct. 8 in the KOA Art Gallery of Blaisdell Hall at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
Nature meets artistry in this latest exhibition by internationally celebrated artist Debra Eck. Running through Nov. 14, this immersive exhibition invites visitors to discover the beauty and complexity of the environment through the lens of local, natural materials.
Eck, a renowned mixed-media artist from Western New York, transforms humble, organic elements into captivating works of art. Known for her delicate paper sculptures and intricate installations, Eck’s work transcends traditional boundaries, offering a deeply personal and tactile connection to the landscapes around us. Each piece in "Terra Forms" invites viewers to reflect on sustainability, craft, and the interplay between humanity and nature.
An opening reception will be held at noon Oct. 8. Admission is free and open to all.
The KOA Art Gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. Private viewing outside these hours is also available by contacting Courtney Mealy at cmealy@pitt.edu or 814-362-5027.
