Three tennis courts remain open at the Kessel Athletic Complex for community members to use following a break Monday in a 12-inch water main buried nine feet below the courts.

Five of the university's eight courts will be unusable until repairs can be made, which likely will not be until spring.

While repairing the leak, workers had to cut an 8-foot-by-14-foot hole in the court surface. Other courts have a rippled surface from where water built up underneath.

Pitt-Bradford administrators have kept the Bradford Area School District, which also uses the court for its tennis teams, apprised of the courts' condition.
