The women's swim team is one of more than 700 collegiate teams given Scholar All-America recognition by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.

In total, 720 teams representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 semester. The Pitt-Bradford women qualified with a 3.05 team grade point average.

Doug Alban, head women's swimming coach, said, “I have emphasized since my arrival last summer that there's a reason student comes first in the term student-athlete. After a great season with many highlights in the pool, this is the cherry on top of a very successful season for the swimming teams here at Pitt-Bradford. I could not be more proud of these ladies.”

The coaches' association noted that this is the largest number of teams recognized in its 95-year history due in part to growth of the sport. The number of men's and women's institutions sponsoring swimming and diving is at a 10-year high.
