Calling the University of Pittsburgh a “world class research university” with an “unwavering commitment to excellence” and referring to its administrators as an "extraordinarily talented and beloved leadership team,” a newly released Middle States Commission on Higher Education accreditation report praised the University’s institution-wide system of assessment and reaffirmed its accreditation for a 10-year period, without qualification, the maximum permissible time for an extension of accreditation.

Alex Nazemetz, director of admissions, always knows what time it is in Beijing, just a part of recruiting Pitt-Bradford’s largest group of international students ever.

The 2012-2013 arts season at Pitt-Bradford promises a mix of globally focused shows and exhibits as well as some classic American bluegrass and work by local writers and artists.

Pitt-Bradford has named new staff directors for several programs for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Pitt-Bradford will expand the offerings it makes to high school students this year at Bradford Area High School and St. Marys Area High School.

Most of the new-and-improved facilities at the Kessel Athletic Complex at Pitt-Bradford are now open and being used by athletes and their fans.

Aside from providing a source for high-quality bachelor’s and associate degrees, Pitt-Bradford provides the region with noncredit continuing education and workforce training.

Much has happened to Michael Gallina since we introduced him to you two years ago. He:
• was awarded the Janet McCauley Award for Behavioral and Social Sciences
• was named a University Scholar for being in the top 2% of undergraduate students
• graduated summa cum laude in April from Pitt-Bradford
• is on his way to graduate school

Dan Songer, director of campus police and safety, has been chosen by the Pitt-Bradford Staff Association for its 2012 Staff Association Award.

Pitt-Bradford received confirmation this year that it is making progress toward one of its top goals – affordability for all students – when it was named one of the 150 “Best Value Colleges” in American for 2012 by The Princeton Review.
