Pitt-Bradford student Andrew Hwang, a business management major from Horsham, is the first recipient of the NEXT STEP Business Grant Competition.

University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Mark Nordenberg has selected Patricia M. Colosimo of Bradford as a recipient of the 2010 Chancellor’s Award for Staff Excellence in Service to the University.

Pitt-Bradford recognized 22 staff members celebrating service anniversaries at a dinner held at The Option House.

Pitt-Bradford will honor three high school students as “Women of Promise” for their achievements in athletics, community service, and the creative and performing arts at a luncheon on Monday, March 1.

University of Pittsburgh Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Dr. James V. Maher, whose significant support and advocacy of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford resulted in unprecedented growth, received the Presidential Medal of Distinction at a tribute reception and dinner on Monday evening.

Claudine Cooper, instructor of hospitality management at Pitt-Bradford, will compete Tuesday in the Pennsylvania Tourism and Lodging Association’s “Pennsylvania Palate.”

Pitt-Bradford hosted more than 140 high school and college students at a women’s leadership conference Friday to talk about “Lessons of Self-Leadership.”

Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday celebrated faculty and staff who “go beyond” and chose winners among the student body who submitted homemade Pitt-Bradford videos.

Two plays directed by Dr. Kevin Ewert, associate professor of theater at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, received high praise from a newspaper in North Carolina, where the plays were performed by the Manbites Dog Theater in Durham.

Pitt-Bradford has closed down its popular Science In Motion program after funding for the program was cut from the Pennsylvania state budget, which some educators think will adversely affect their schools’ science programs.
